In November or December, imagine an arrival afternoon with time to settle, a walk by the water and a quiet dinner. The following evening belongs to the occasion: a wine dinner at Villa d’Este, with transfers arranged so that the return requires no thought. A third day might be spent in Como, with a gallery, a long lunch and time to browse.
With four or five days, we can explore nearby towns and a weather-appropriate outing, checking winter opening hours and transport rather than assuming a summer programme. There is equal pleasure in a morning indoors, watching the water and allowing the day to remain yours.
Villa d’Este in Cernobbio has announced a festive programme from 1 December 2026 to 7 January 2027. Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como in Blevio is an option to explore for earlier autumn dates: its published 2026 offers run into mid-November, which does not confirm December operation. We check each hotel’s actual opening calendar and rooms for your chosen nights before proposing a stay.
